Christmas shopping for little ones is the fun kind of shopping, right up until you are staring at a screen with forty tabs open and no idea what a two-year-old actually needs. This is our shortcut. Everything below is something we stock at Mini Moments Scotland in Bearsden, picked to give you a good mix of clothes, toys and small extras across different ages and budgets.
We ship across the UK, and if you are local you are very welcome to pop into the shop on Drymen Road and see everything in person. If you spot something you love, it is worth ordering sooner rather than later.
Stocking fillers under £10
The stocking is where the magic happens, and it does not need to cost a fortune. These are the little things that get opened first and played with longest.
- Christmas socks, £3.50. Blade & Rose do a run of festive socks that are hard to beat on price: Christmas Pudding, Snowman and the very Scottish Hamish Highland Cow.
- Make Your Own kits, from £4.99. Cotton Twist craft kits are a lovely way to turn Christmas Eve into an activity. Choose from a Santa keyring, gingerbread keyring, Christmas tree keyring, elf peg doll or angel peg doll.
- Colouring books, £3.50. Rachel Ellen's 12 Days of Christmas and Santa & Snowman books are the easy win for a quiet half hour on Christmas afternoon. Add Christmas temporary tattoos at £4.75 and you have a mini activity bundle.
- Hair clips, from £6.35. Rockahula's festive clips are a favourite for girls: Reindeer, Christmas Tree gold glitter and Shimmer Snowflake, plus a festive claw clip 3 pack at £6.85.
- A little book, £7.99. The Tales from Acorn Wood board books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler are small, sturdy and made for being read again and again.

Baby's first Christmas
A first Christmas deserves a photo, a keepsake and an outfit worth keeping. Tiny gifts work well here, because babies are not fussy and parents are the ones who will treasure it.
- My First Christmas Reindeer Cotton Hat (£5) and the Winter Animals Hat (£5), with a matching Winter Animals Bib (£5.99), are an easy, affordable photo-day set.
- Our First Christmas as Mummy and Daddy Hanging Star (£6.50) is a sweet pick for new parents, and a nice thing to hang on the tree year after year.
- For something to wear, the Emile et Rose Kiki red tartan bow babygrow (£36.75) and the Patachou ivory velour and tartan carousel babygrow (£49.95) are the kind of pieces people keep for the next baby.
- Softer and more affordable, the Mayoral baby velour onesie in blueberry (£23.45) is a cosy everyday gift.
Our Baby's First Christmas collection has plenty more to choose from.
Christmas outfits that feel special
If the little one in your life is going to a party, a church service or just a big family lunch, an outfit is a gift that gets used straight away.
For boys: Emile et Rose's Campbell navy three-piece outfit (£52) pairs a shirt, trousers and a tartan waistcoat, while the Kendrick traditional Christmas outfit (£65) adds a fair isle tank top. For the smallest boys, the Kenneth navy velour Christmas babygrow (£40) and the Patachou ivory top and Balmoral tartan pants set (£99.95) are lovely dressed-up options.
For girls: the Emile et Rose Carlina red tartan party dress with tights (£51) is a proper Christmas party dress, and the Mayoral toddler plaid dress in raspberry (£51.45) is a good alternative. For a smaller budget, the Mayoral dress with bag and headband (£26.99) comes as a ready-made set.
Tartan is a nice nod to Scotland, and it works just as well for families further south. See everything in Christmas Clothing, or read our full guide to Christmas party outfits for kids for ideas on what to wear to parties, church and the family lunch.
Cosy, everyday Christmas clothes
Not every Christmas gift needs to be formal. If you want something the little one can wear all December (and be photographed in a hundred times), these are great value.
- Blade and Rose Festive Reindeer Sweater (£19.50), a unisex grey Christmas jumper.
- Christmas Pudding Top (£13.50) and I Believe Christmas Top (£13.50), with Christmas Pudding Leggings (£9.50) or Festive Leggings (£9.50) to complete the look.
- For a child who loves the outdoors, the Gruffalo Outdoor Adventure Hoodie (£29.50) and top (£15) are a fun pick for any Gruffalo fan.
Warm winter accessories
A hat, scarf and gloves set is one of the most useful gifts you can give a child in a Scottish winter, and it still feels like a treat to unwrap. Rockahula's Cheerful Cherry knitted hat (£14.85), scarf (£15.85) and gloves (£13.85) make a matching set, and the Rainbow Unicorn hat (£14.85) and T-Rex earmuffs (£15) are easy wins for animal lovers. We have also put together a full hats, scarves and gloves guide if you want to see more.
Toys that get played with
For the main present, we lean towards toys that encourage imaginative play and last beyond Boxing Day. Le Toy Van's wooden range is a good place to start.
- Role play: the Le Toy Van Vanity Star Beauty Kit (£28.95), the Vintage Style Film Camera (£19.95), the Wooden Doctor's Medical Kit (£28.95) and the Cash Register & Money (£28.95) suit pretend-play lovers.
- Dolls house: start small with the Sitting Room or Children's Bedroom (£23.95 each) and add to it year by year, or go for the Complete Furniture Set (£48.95) to furnish the whole house in one go. Read more in our dolls house and fire station guide.
- Big gifts: the Le Toy Van Fire & Rescue Wooden Garage (£98.95) is a showpiece present for a vehicle-mad child, the Barbarossa Pirate Ship and Characters (£68.95) is made for adventurous play, and the Rainbow Cloud Walker (£98.95) is a statement gift. The Figure of 8 Train Set (£48.95) is a lovely one for train fans.
- Puzzles and early learning: the Wooden Rainbow Pastel Puzzle (£19.99) and the Wooden Number Puzzle (£19.99) are good toddler gifts, and the Play & Learn Wooden Toys Box for 18-24 months (£59.99) is a ready-made present for that age.
- Cuddly and festive: The Snowman Bean Toy (£13.99) and The Snowdog Bean Toy (£15.99) are a nice nod to the classic story.
- Quiet play: the Christmas Tree and Reindeer sensory fidget toys (£12.95) are small enough for a stocking and handy for car journeys.

Do not forget the bits that make it feel like Christmas. Our Santa & Friends and Dancing Santas wrapping paper (£3.75 each) are easy ways to make presents look the part, and our Santa letter kit (£2.99) is a cheap and charming addition to Christmas Eve.
